- Get 1 1/4 cup hazelnut meal

Steps to make Hazelnut Pie Crust (paleo):
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Put hazelnut meal, arrow root starch, cinnamon and salt in food processor. Pulse until no clumps remain. Add egg, coconut oil and vanilla. Pulse til coconut oil, egg and vanilla are well incorporated into a dough.
- Press dough into pie plate, bottom and all the way up the sides. Crimp the edges with fingers or press down with a fork.
- Blind bake using parchment paper filled with dried beans to weigh it down for approximately 7 minutes. Remove pie weights, and parchment paper and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
I made a grain-free hazelnut pie crust. And this pie crust was perfect: light, buttery, golden, crispy, and delicious. As you know by now, I am super picky when it comes to desserts and baked goods, and I would rather not eat a treat at all than have a weird "paleo" version of an old favorite. While this Paleo Pie Crust isn't the easiest to work with, it's so flaky, crispy and melt-in-your-mouth good that you won't mind having your patience tested! Trust me, you really ougha give it a try.
